These bony tumors are usually benign, and most do not cause discomfort. However, they do not go away on their own and they can become an aesthetic concern. The exact cause of osteomas is not known, but they rarely cause any medical problems. While some patients report discomfort from their growths, the most common concern is their appearance. While osteomas can appear on other long bones on the body, they often sprout from the skull in the forehead area. While they grow very slowly, over the years they can become very noticeable. In some cases, they may impact wearing a hat or other headgear, depending on the location of the osteoma.

Osteoma Plastic Surgery

Osteoma removal is a cosmetic, elective procedure in most cases. To remove the bony growth, a small incision is made in the skin, and a device is used to carefully remove the layers of the lump. In many cases, osteoma surgery can be performed using endoscopic techniques. The incisions can be made behind the hairline to hide the scars, and an endoscope can be used to view the osteoma. Small endoscopic instruments are used to scrape away the bony growth without requiring an incision on the forehead. In most cases, osteoma removal can be performed under local anesthesia for a safer experience for the patient.

Recovery and downtime are minimal – most patients are able to return to most normal activities in a day or two. With endoscopic osteoma removal, the incisions are very small and well hidden on the scalp behind the hairline. Mr. Dr. Fourman has been the best doctor hands down so far that I have ever experienced in my life so far and I only have had my first office visit. He is so polite, listens and exsplained in full detail. I would say Dr. Markov is a bit of a perfectionist.

After learning I had breast cancer a second time in 2023 I opted to have a bilateral mastectomy with a DIEP flap reconstruction. I looked into 3 different doctors and while I am sure they are all very capable, I chose Dr. Markov. He was straight forward and to the point and he was local. I really liked his approach and he made me feel very comfortable. Today I had my 4 week post op appointment from the final phase of the reconstruction and I am thrilled with the results. I feel and look like myself again. Honestly they look better than they did before my mastectomy. I would say Dr. Markov is a bit of a perfectionist. The only thing left, if I opt to do this, is the tattooing. I am not sure if I am going to do that just yet, because they already look so good. Anyhow, I would 100 % recommend Dr. Markov.

Don't put it off any longer!
If you have thought about weight-loss surgery, Dr. Fourman is the Dr. you need to see! He's very personable, understands and is caring.I followed all the pre op instructions, did out patient, in the morning, and was up and moving around very well by that evening. He's staff is wonderful too. There are no scary front desk reception. Everyone there knows what your going through. Wish I had done this 10 years sooner. Like I said...Don't put it off for another year!
