Latisse contains the active ingredient bimatoprost. This medication was first used as a treatment for glaucoma – one of the side effects of the medication was increased eyelash growth. Due to this desired side effect, Latisse became the first FDA-approved cosmetic treatment to grow longer, darker and thicker eyelashes.
Latisse treatment is completed at home. The solution is applied daily to the upper eyelash line. Over the following months, the eyelashes will thicken and grow longer. The new eyelashes will also be darker in color. The effects of Latisse will continue as long as you use the product. If you stop treatment, your eyelashes will return to their natural color, thickness and length.

With Latisse, people with shorter or thin eyelashes can improve their natural eye appearance. Some patients have lost eyelashes due to aging, illness or other factors, which Latisse can help regrow. Other patients genetically have short or light lashes and want the benefit of longer or darker lashes.
