A man’s nose can define his face. You want a nose that blends with your other features and does not draw too much attention. When a nose is too large, misshapen or overpowering, it can be unattractive. A nose job can reshape the nose to achieve the right harmony of masculine features. At pēkomd® plastic surgery center, we offer male rhinoplasty to achieve facial balance at our facility in Toledo, OH.
All rhinoplasty procedures use the same techniques to reshape the nose, but each surgery should be personalized to the patient. For male rhinoplasty, it is important to consider the masculine aspects of the nose shape, as well as the ethnicity of the patient, to create a desirable nose that matches his other features. Dr. Peter Koltz is a board certified plastic surgeon who has performed many nose jobs with fantastic, natural-appearing results. He customizes every rhinoplasty to achieve the desired outcome for his patients.
Masculine Nose Job Surgery
There are many reasons men seek nose reshaping surgery. The nose genetics provided may not have the aesthetic appeal they desire. A sports injury or vehicle accident may have created a crooked appearance. Some men can develop rhinophyma or skin cancer that can cause a misshapen nose. Whatever the reason, rhinoplasty can obtain a nose that is both functional and aesthetically-appealing. With the right cosmetic changes, nose job surgery can create a more attractive face that retains its masculinity and natural appearance.
Rhinoplasty is performed either with open or closed incisions. Open rhinoplasty uses incisions that are on the outside of the nose, but well-hidden to make them discreet. Closed rhinoplasty has incisions inside the nose, but it is limited in what can be achieved when reshaping the nose. Both require general anesthesia during the procedure. Patients can expect to have swelling and bruising for one to two weeks after their surgery, with two weeks typically recommended for recovery.
