Scar Revision for Smoother Skin

Scars can be flat, indented or raised – some scars create excess tissue and result in a keloid growth. At pēkomd® cosmetic surgery center, we offer scar revision plastic surgery to improve the appearance of large or unattractive scars at our facility in Toledo, OH. Scar tissue is different than the original skin it repairs. The texture and color of scars can change the appearance of the skin and restrict the movement. Scar Correction Surgery

While it is impossible to completely remove a scar, it can be reduced or moved to hide its appearance. Some scars can be minimized with non-surgical treatments – laser skin therapy can fade dark scars to make them less visible. For hypertrophic or atrophic scars that disfigure the skin, scar revision surgery may be needed to improve the skin appearance. Specialized treatments can be used to reduce scarring from the revision surgery, including using silicone sheets and medications.
