Breast Augmentation in Toledo

The size, fullness, symmetry, and even shape of your breasts can play a major role in your ability to be happy with how you look and feel every day. If you no longer are happy with or have never felt comfortable or happy with your breasts, an augmentation can be a game-changer. A breast augmentation can help you enhance and redefine your natural breast shapeand/or size. Sometimes, you do not want to change your bra size but you simply want to fill things out better. This can sometimes be accomplished with your own fat or it may require an implant. Sometimes we will recommend combining both techniques to give the most natural results!

Our team will break down the breast augmentation process, create a specialized plan for all of your needs and help you boost your confidence. Our goal is to help your meet your goal in the safest and most reliable way. We take advantage of the most current literature to use the best techniques and materials in order to have the lowest complication rates and highest satisfaction rates possible.

The Breast Augmentation Procedure

The first step with any procedure is a consultation at pēkoMD. You and Dr. Koltz will discuss your preferences for your overall desired look you are trying to achieve. We will discuss size, texture, and shape, and he will explain the various types of implants, such as smooth or textured, round or shaped like a teardrop, saline or silicone, as well as options for surgical techniques. We will also discuss if we can meet your goals without an implant at all, rather use your fat or maybe simply a breast lift.

During the Procedure

The breast augmentation procedure will be performed at our new fully equipped surgical and treatment facility or at a hospital if necessary. After the procedure, you will go home the same day. Breast augmentation should rarely be performed under local anesthesia while you are awake and relaxed in order to minimize complications and make sure you have the best possible experience. Most patients should undergo general anesthesia. Dr Koltz utilizes a rapid recovery technique that results in such minimal discomfort that some patients are able to go out for dinner the night of surgery.

During the procedure, Dr. Koltz will make an incision in one of three places, including the crease under the breast (inframammary), around the nipple (periareolar), or under the arm (axillary). Dr. Koltz will then create a pocket behind or in front of the chest muscle. This pocket is where Dr Koltz will insert the implant using a no touch implant technique in order to minimize complications. After the implant is inserted, Dr Koltz will suture the incision closed with sutures under the skin that will dissolve on their own and apply a bandage to the area.

After the Procedure

Some swelling and soreness may occur for a few days after surgery, along with minimal bruising. It is important to note that scars will fade with time but will not disappear completely. Dr. Koltz can use advanced techniques and many different nonsurgical technologies following surgery to reduce scarring as much as possible.

After the surgery, it is recommended to wear a sports bra or a compression bandage to provide extra support. You should follow all post-op instructions and avoid strenuous activities or exercise for at least two weeks. Most patients are able to return to work within a few weeks.
